System Setup

This section looks at the general HR Import setup and how to configure the elements.

General Settings

The General Settings set where Totara is expecting files from and where notifications are sent.

File Access: Need to be set to Upload Files. This configures Totara to expect file uploading.

File Directory need to be left blank.

It is useful to configure Totara to send notifications for errors and warnings to a central email address.

Elements

Manage elements

Elements allows you to configure which file Totara is expecting. You can use the Hide/Show icon to control which files are expected by Totara.

Element settings

The element settings allow you to control aspects of the import behaviour.

Organisation

For organisations you are able to control the Source and the import actions.

  • Source: The Source must be set to CSV.
  • Import Actions: The Import Actions allow you control what the file is allowed to do. The options are Create, Update and

Position

For positions you are able to control the Source and the import actions.

  • Source: The Source must be set to CSV.
  • Import Actions: The Import Actions allow you control what the file is allowed to do. The options are Create, Update and

Users

For users you are able to control the Source, the import actions and settings for emails and passwords.

  • Source: The Source must be set to CSV.
  • Source contains all records: Does the source provide all HR Import records, every time OR are only records that need to be updated/deleted provided? We recommend that you always use one master file to avoid users accidently being deleted. NOTE: If "No" (only records to be updated/deleted), then the source must use the "delete" flag.
  • Import Actions: The Import Actions allow you control what the file is allowed to do. The options are Create, Update and Delete.
