Testing a Course when using Audience-Based Visibility

It is important that a course is tested before learner access is granted. These are the steps we recommend for testing a course:

• Have at least two test users – test accounts that are used purely for course testing

Changing settings for testing

Follow these steps to test a course:

Change Audience-based visibility

1. As a Site Admin or Site Manager
2. Find the course you wish to test
3. Select the course
4. Select Edit Settings from the Course Administration menu
5. Scroll down to Audience-based visibility
6. Select Edit Settings from the Course Administration menu
7. Scroll down to Audience-based visibility
8. Choose Visible to Enrolled users
9. Select Save Changes

Enrol test user

1. Select Enrolled users from Users in the Course Administration menu
2. Select Enrol users
3. Search for your test user(s)
4. Select Enrol
5. Select Finish enrolling users

 Login as to Test the course

1. Select Browse list of users from Users in the Site Administration menu
2. Search for your test user(s)
3. Select the users name
4. Select Log in as from the Profile settings

You are now able to navigate to the course and test the course completion settings without opening the course up to a large audience.
